A memorial for Michael Jackson is expected Tuesday in Los Angeles, an official said, as a lawyer for the pop star of the ex-wife said she had not decided to fight for custody of their children .
Randy Phillips, CEO of concert promoter AEG Live, said Thursday Jackson's eagerly awaited memorial was planned for the rock concert and sports venue, the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
Phillips said that the monument would probably be held on Tuesday, but the mother of Jackson has not made a final decision.
"They (the family) want to be at Staples Center. The question is when, "said Phillips.
AEG Live is part of a group of companies that control events at Staples Center. Phillips said details of the memory in the 20,000-seat indoor are still debated, but fans will not be charged for tickets.
Jackson's death June 25 after suffering a cardiac arrest in his house for rent in Los Angeles has resulted in worldwide tributes to musicians and fans and has sent many of its files at the top of the music.
Meanwhile Debbie Rowe - the mother of Jackson, the two oldest children, Prince Michael Jackson Jr. 12, and Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, 11 - appeared to pave the way for a legal fight with the parents of Jackson on their future.
"I want my children," Rowe was quoted as saying NBC4 TV in Los Angeles.
But his lawyer, Eric George, said Thursday that Rowe was still considering its position.
"I'm representing for you, Debbie has not taken a final decision on the pending custody," says George.
"Distortions of the truth"
"I have no reason to doubt that what has been reported that the conversation was recorded properly and ethically, but it said it would be a distortion of the truth so that only a single snapshot of conversation to be the truth of Debbie's position, "he says.
Temporary custody was granted this week in Jackson's 79-year-old mother, Katherine Jackson. A 2002, signed by Jackson Rowe cut specifically his area and asked his mother to care for children.
Jackson did not mention his funeral held in. The Staples Center is the site of the singer of the last rehearsal for a concert scheduled 50-round return to London, to begin July 13 and was supported by AEG Live.
Video clips of a rehearsal two nights before his death, that research showed Jackson thin, but more powerful as his superstar self, were released on Thursday on CNN.
An official autopsy was conducted, but toxicology tests will not be ready for the week. The results of an autopsy by a private physician Jackson family were not released.
Law enforcement sources said that the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration was requested to assist the police in Los Angeles their investigation. Several bags of drugs have already been removed from Jackson's house by officials of the coroner.
Speculation has stirred in the media that the 50-year pop star was abusing drugs and perhaps drugs intravenously before back concerts this month in London.
His brother Jermaine Jackson said Thursday that the reports of Michael Jackson's possible drug use had damaged his family.
"Michael has always been a person who is against something like that. ... But in this case the pressures and things that you cross, you never know what a turn (s) for", said Jermaine on NBC's "Today" show.
